Cowgirl Bluesin mohairasusteet

Call ahead to drop in for a showroom and studio visit at 7 Forest Hill Avenue, Oranjezicht on Monday, Wednesday or Thursday or contact Bridget on 083 4451150 for an appointment.

Cowgirl Blues myy käsintehtyjä mohairtuotteita, kuten huiveja ja käsilaukkuja. Tässä heidän ekologista ja sosiaalista vastuuta korostavaa ideologiaansa:

At cowgirlblues we make clothing, accessories and decor pieces by hand from South African wool and mohair.

We use natural fibres because we think they’re better than fake ones. Animal fibres (wool, mohair) are our favourite, they’re more elastic than plants (cotton, bamboo) so they can stretch but retain their shape
We work by hand because it’s more personal than machine made stuff, and we think you appreciate the difference. As a result all our products have an individual feel and no two items are ever exactly the same
We are women and we work with women because we believe women need support and have a lot to offer in improving the way that businesses work
We’re environmentally friendly because we think it’s the right thing to do, so we minimise waste, re-use, recycle, go local, and generally pay attention to our environmental impact
We take things personally because it’s how we are, we like people and we think it makes different and allows us to be flexible, responsive and adaptable
We’re independent, adventurous and curious so we constantly experiment with new ideas in our designs and business practices and we think it keeps us fresh, interesting, creative and fun to interact with

Cowgirlblues was started by Bridget Henderson, who worked in big corporate organisations (Bain & Co, Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy, Unilever) both in South Africa and internationally, for many years. She’s a medical school drop-out with an MBA from Insead who bought her first camera in 2001 in Kathmandu and discovered a passion for photography. She also comes from a family of “makers” and both her mother and 87-year-old grandmother still knit.
